Other Skills
Sound Editing
I have experience with sound editing programs similar to Nero Wave Editor but since I've been introduced to Audacity I prefer to use that instead, given it's non-linear style of editing and the fact that it is free software. I produced two minute-long podcasts on obscure recipes as part of the Music Sound Studio course at UniSA. The podcasts couldn't go over a minute as restrictions in radio would be unforgiving in a similar way. This is why they may sound a little rushed. Both of the recipes come from my great grandma's recipe book. For anyone interested in listening, here are the mp3 files for both the beer cake recipe and the impossible pie recipe.
Music Composition
Being a Mac user I've tinkered with Garage Band and picked it up really quickly because of it's similarity to Sony Acid XMC, which I have been using on PC for a few years. Before I could get my hands on these types of programs I used to use extremely low-end programs like "Top of the Pops" and "Mixman Studio", both of which are probably built in Macromedia tools.
Here are some examples of my MP3 tracks:
Maya (3D graphics package)
I completed a basic 3D Animation course at University. Now that I have experienced working with Maya, I have a renewed respect for 3D generated special effects and the people that create them. I felt that it was a good idea to take the course, both to try my hand at 3D animation and also to give me an edge in movie production, as I'd know what is possible and how long it would take to produce 3D effects.
